Teacher Heather Lasseigne Chiasson Accused of Sex with Student
Heather Lasseigne Chiasson, a 29-year-old teacher at South Lafourche High School in Louisiana, is accused having sex with an unnamed 17-year-old male student, whom she taught last year.
Chiasson faces a charge of prohibited sexual conduct between an educator and a student, and has been suspended from her job. She faces a misdemeanor, rather than a felony, because the student was 17 at the time of the alleged incident, per Louisiana law.
Lafourche Sheriff Craig Webre said that police questioned the male student, who described a "flirtatious relationship" that allegedly escalated into sexual activity, including intercourse.
Webre said the student also showed police numerous text messages, some of graphic sexual nature, that were alegedly exchanged with Chiasson.
The school discovered the alleged relationship last Friday, according to school spokesman Floyd Benoit.

So all you yahoos that think that the kid's an idiot for turning her in, how would you feel if it was a good looking male teacher and a female student? Is that OK? Is the female student lucky to be involved with the male teacher?
What if the female student was your daughter? How would you feel about it then?

To state the obvious, what makes this particularly newsworthy to people is that the teacher is attractive. If she were a 29 year old troll look-a-like, then people wouldn't be surprised that she resorted to robbing the cradle.

No real victims here. Inappropriate and unprofessional behavior that should lead to being relieved of her duties? Oh, yeah! But no real crime if the boy was 17. Hell, I was already out of HS and serving in the armed forces at that age. Now, in my state, this scenerio would be "contributing to the delinquency of a minor," certainly not "rape" or "higher degrees of criminal sexual conduct." Next time, the teacher ought to be more discerning -- and the 17 year old ought to keep his big mouth shut. Hope they're both reading this.
