Video: Girl Scout Calls for Cookie Boycott Over Transgender Child
A 14-year-old Girl Scout, who calls herself "Taylor," has called for a boycott of Girl Scout cookies (video below) to protest against the inclusion of a transgender seven-year-old child in the Colorado chapter of the Girl Scouts.
The issue became news in October when the Girls Scouts of Colorado accepted seven-year-old Bobby Montoya, who was born a boy, but considers himself a girl.
"If a child identifies as a girl and the child's family presents her as a girl, Girl Scouts of Colorado welcomes her as a Girl Scout,' the Colorado chapter said at the time. 'We do not require proof of gender."
Taylor, who has been a Girl Scout for eight years, recorded a video (below) where she says that allowing a transgender child into the organization goes against Girl Scout values and puts the girls’ safety at risk.
"'Why is GSUSA willing to break its own safety rules and go against its own research findings to accommodate transgender boys?" Taylor asks.
"Unfortunately, I think it is because GSUSA cares more about promoting the desires of a small handful of people than it does my safety and the safety of my friends. And they are doing it with the money we earn for them by selling Girl Scout cookies."
She also quotes several Girl Scout guidelines from the organization that do contradict an inclusion of boys.
The footage of Taylor was posted to honestgirlscouts.com, a group that supports an end to sex education in Girl Scouts. The video was taken down, but has now gone viral on the web.

@Ksterry - Ugh. Your post hurts my *soul* (or whatever) Ok, quoting - "Did your dumbass notice that she wasn't a white girl?" /sigh. How long did you have to disect my post to get that gem for your indignation, while completely and utterly missing my point?
I don't care what color you are, bigotry and hatred aren't really race specific, sorry if it came across that way, yeesh. I won't apologize for the "Christian" part though, since it seems like the people that espouse this general bigotry and hatred are generally prone to lable themselves "Christian" (Again, covering my butt: I realize that not every christian feels that way, but it is the most common self-applied lable.)
Yeesh, I feel like I seriously have to place 50-100 disclaimers in my posts (Why not more? Shut up.) or someone will jump on the first thing they see that they find that can be misconstrued, to change the meaning of my post. My problem was simply that it bugs me when people like Hope7 and Just a thought are applauding a hateful, hurtful, bigot. And I have a right in this country to have a problem with that, and to express it on a public forum as my opinion. And of course to be called a "dumbass" by people who cannot make an intelligent argument, and instead just pick apart my post for whatever meaning they want to have be there, rather than the actual, intended, STATED, meaning.
Also, you want to "know what kills me"? First that you would immediately refer to her as a "freak". Thanks for that, cause that isn't hurtful or bigoted or anything (proving my point about the following:)

So yeah, as Just a Thought said to your post "Thank you", but mine is for proving that point so eloquently, through a complete lack of sensitivity and eloquence. You go right on with what you think is right, I'm sure that Jesus, Buddah, Mohammed, Mother Earth, or whoever your role model is (again, have to put a disclaimer /sigh, realized that someone is going to point out that I didn't list every possible God, Goddess, Tree, Atheist possibility etc. is going to say something, ugh.)
But just remember that saying that "Because this person doesn't adhere to my narrow world-view, they are wrong and should be excluded from my club, and not afforded the same rights as I am." Doesn't help anybody (And yes, that is what this girl and her Ilk are saying, however indirectly.)
Anyway, that is the wonderful thing about AMERICA (Thats for Just a thought, so... yeah) anyway, that you can be hateful and bigoted. Or, you can sit on the sidelines and applaud those who are hateful, insulting, and bigoted. Wonderfully, in this country, that is your right under the first amendment. Again, I'm also allowed to have a problem with bigotry and hate and want rights for EVERYBODY *Again, I don't have italics*. So yeah, THAT was the point of my post. I don't like hatred. I don't like Bigotry and injustice. And I would hope that other Americans would agree, but you are free not to. Now, I am going to go lock myself in a soundproof room and yell obscenities, because I am genuinely irritated by the stupidity that is being expressed in our world today. Ugh.

Wow, so bigotry and hatred are "standing up for your beliefs" now? Awesome. I wasn't aware of that. Well then, bravo, and let us make sure not to let Blacks, Jews, or basically anyone who isn't christian and white, into any groups either. /Insert Sarcasm Here.
For that matter, lets make sure that anyone who isn't a "Good, upstanding, white christian can't do anything outside their house. STANDING UP FOR BELIEFS ISN'T ALWAYS A GOOD THING, WHEN THE BELIEFS ARE BIGOTED, FULL OF HATE, AND STUPID. Just want to make sure that is hammered home, hence the caps.

You keep mentioning "white people".Did your dumbass notice that she wasn't a white girl?You know what kills me?First of all that parents would treat their boy as a girl.If you freaks want special rights,why don't you start your own He/she scout group?What defines a girl?Anatomy.When HE can give birth,breast feed and have menstrual periods,maybe then HE will be a girl.It's sickening to me that any parent with half a brain would do this to their child.I support this young lady 100%.I will boycott Girl scout cookies.
