"Am I Ugly or Pretty?" The Disturbing Social Media Trend for Teens
There is a new trend of YouTube videos in which teens, mostly girls, ask YouTube commenters whether they're ugly or not.
The practice recalls the web site 'Am I Hot or Not," but with a video twist and often mean comments.
Many of the teen girls want to know if they are pretty enough to land a boyfriend with statements such as "Umm, uhh, umm, well, if you think I'm pretty, still comment...just comment...I don't care if I'm ugly or not."
At the same time, there are supportive comments from YouTubers such as "Of course, you're not ugly, you're beautiful."
Is this normal teen angst or a troubling trend in today's social media?

Asking this question to the internet, home of some of the deepest pits of filth on the internet, is a damned stupid idea. You thought kids could be cruel? Wait until you can hide behind a veil of anonymity.
Boy, this is just ASKING for it!! Young insecure people asking if they are attractive or not and then allowing folks to comment!! NOT a good idea. We already know how this will play out!
